de Young Museum Residency

deYoungInstallation

The concept behind The de Young Museum residency was for Dana to draw museum goers on the iPad. Additionally, with help from museum interns trained by Zed, the museum visitors also did portraits on museum iPads and self portraits with the double sided moving mirrors. All the portraits were printed and hung in the gallery. so, in the end, it was everybody’s exhibit!

This residency developed out of the Dana Zed iPod Touch drawings of people riding the subway between Oakland and San  Francisco. Dana created a fairy tale environment in the museum where people drew each other. It was comprised of Dana Zed self illuminating glass sculptures,  and eight double sided moving mirrored walls and the portraits of course.
