Each painting simultaneously presents sixteen landscapes. Everything is happening at once. One is everywhere simultaneously. There are alternate realities and multiple vanishing points. It seems not to matter so much where the path leads, just so long as you are on it. This inclusion is only implied; there is no person in the picture only the fact that since there is a picture (documenting a scene) then there must have been a person to make it.
I am not so much interested in painting landscapes as I am in representing time by depicting space. This is why they are all together. The painting are inspired by the roughly 5oo miles between Salt Lake City UT and Denver CO which consist of enormous space and beauty. The space goes on and on and all the space becomes the same space and all the time the same time. The beauty is not without mystery.
